Essence pigments
2013
Surely by now you have noticed Essence pigments in their stands at drugstores. They are not exactly yesterday’s novelty, but they are among the last things that the brand introduced in its range. Right at the start I must admit that I like them very much, and that so far I have four in my collection and I will definitely get a few more :)
Essence pigments are multifunctional products that can be used on eyes, cheeks, lips and nails. Along with them comes the line of bases in which they should be mixed for the best effect. Unfortunately, I have tried only primer and I bypassed other products, primarily because I think that these pigments are the best (and most practical) used an eyeshadow. You can use the base you have, or just apply them wet for the best and most intense effect.
What surprised me a bit is that each pigment has a different grammage. 18 Little Mermaid contains 1.4 g, 19 Kiss the Frog 1.7 g, 03 Box of Chocolate 2.5 g, 01 Studio 54 even 3g. Beside the grammage, there is a difference in the texture and so the numbers 18 and 19 are silky, smooth, 01 is slightly rougher (because it fine glitter), and 03 is somewhere in between.
Another thing that stands out a bit from the average for these products is shelf life. On them is specified deadline 6 months from opening, and that is really short for dry products. Although I believe that they are good to use and long after that date, it did confuse me
Lets go to the details about the shades.
01 Studio 54 is a fine gold glitter. If you’re a fan of glitter, and you have trouble finding “cosmetic safe” grade, try this pigment. Due to the specific dry and rough texture it can fall in the area under the eye so my advice is to first do the make-up of the eye makeup, clean up and remove the glitter on unwanted area because otherwise you could end up shining like a disco ball. Ok if you want to, though I doubt it :)
03 Box of chocolate is a rich brown color with silver shimmer. Excellent shade for day and night that you can adjust to dose and intensity as needed.
18 Little Mermaid shimmery intense blue, excellent texture and longwearing. Perhaps even to longwearing considering that after taking off makeup it leaves pretty intense blue mark that is not easily removed from the skin (see the photo below).
19 Kiss the frog is a shimmery light green, similar in texture to 18, but slightly less pigmented.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I use them as eyeshadows. Colors are nice, they look identical on lids as they do in the packaging, so in conclusion I can say that these pigments are one of the best things that have happened to drugstore cosmetics in a long time.
If I had to evaluate, I would not be able to give them anything less than 10/10 because when we take into account the price of about 22kn, I think anything you can not find anything better.
Here is a quick look I did using only black eyepencil and Essence pigment 01 Studio 54.
Have you tried Essence pigments? Which shades and how to use them?

Koje divno oko! :) I look je predivan, u svoj svojoj jednostavnosti :) Slike kao i inače divne, osobno mi se najviše sviđa plavi pigment koji bi koristila na očima…
Nah, I’ll pass. Držim se svog BFTEa i njihovih divota…
